About

I'm an electrical engineer, not a solar dealer.

Not a solar dealer who learned the vocabulary, and not a company with a sales team. When you call this number, you get the person who will design your system.

Where I come from

I trained as an electrical engineer and spent the early part of my career on high-voltage substations.

Substation work teaches you a particular kind of carefulness. The consequences of getting a calculation wrong are immediate and physical, the standards are not negotiable, and nobody is impressed by how quickly you finished. You learn to check things, and you learn that the expensive mistakes are the ones made early and buried.

Solar looks simple next to that, which is exactly why so much of it is done badly. A photovoltaic array is a DC generator wired into a building's electrical system. Sizing it against the wrong load profile, protecting it with the wrong breakers, or running undersized cable produces a system that works on the day of handover and disappoints for the next ten years.

I came to solar with the substation habits intact. That is most of what I actually sell.

What I've built

Over 4MW across Pakistan — industrial, commercial and domestic.

The largest is a 1 MW plant for Simta Foods at Vehari Industrial Estate: 594 JA 715W N-Type bifacial modules and two SOLIS 125 kW inverters, saving roughly PKR 1.9M a month.

There is a 500 kW system at Hassan Flour Mill in DG Khan, a 156 kW installation at a remote agricultural site in Rangpur, cold storage at DG Khan, industrial work in Sialkot, and houses across DHA, Bahria Town, Park View and Lake City.

Simta Foods and DG Khan Cold Storage have both come back for more than one project. On this model that is the only marketing metric I have any real faith in — a client who has already seen every invoice has no reason to return except that the work was right.

03

I work alone, on purpose

There is no sales team, no account manager, and nobody on payroll.

I do the site assessment, the design, the procurement and the commissioning myself. For installation I work with teams I have used for years and can have on site at 24 hours notice — but the engineering decisions stay with me, because they are the ones that determine whether the system is any good.

This has an obvious limitation and I would rather state it than have you discover it. I can only take on so many projects at once, and I would rather turn work away than run two sites badly. If I'm booked, I'll tell you when I'm free instead of starting something I can't attend to.

Contracts, purchase orders and invoices are issued under YTECH SOLAR. Behind it, it's me.

How people have found me

Until now, almost entirely by referral.

A retired Siemens country head. General managers at WAPDA. Doctors, entrepreneurs, and overseas Pakistanis managing a property from abroad. People who had a system installed and then told someone else to call me.

That works well and it is also the reason for this site. A referral arrives with trust already attached — someone you know has vouched for me. If you have found this page from a search, you have none of that, and you are being asked to hand a significant amount of money to a stranger on the internet.

I can't manufacture a mutual friend. What I can do is show you the invoices, explain the engineering in enough detail that you can check it, and be specific about what I will and won't do. That's what the rest of this site is.

Talk to me directly

Tell me about your site and I'll tell you honestly whether solar is worth it for you. Sometimes the answer is no, and it's cheaper for both of us if I say so early.
